Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards 2023
17th Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards:- 27 Indians living abroad have been selected for the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards (PBSA) by the Government of India for their outstanding achievements both in India and abroad.
The award is the highest recognition given to Indians living abroad, including Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) or organizations/entities established and run by them.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the theme of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2023 will be "Pravasi: Reliable Partners for India's Progress in the Amrit Kaal". The theme highlights the importance of the Indian diaspora in contributing to India's progress.

Selection of Honorees :-
- The Pravasi Bharatiya Samman recipients are selected by a committee headed by the Vice President. In which the External Affairs Minister (S Jaishankar) is its Vice-Chairman. While other members of the committee come from different places.
- According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the committee considers the nominations for the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award and unanimously the winners are selected.
- The awardees are expatriates who have made a mark abroad through their work in different fields.
